Come to the calm of a well functioning brain.
OCD stands for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Some of the characteristics of this disorder are:
A compulsive search for flaws in a partner or spouse. Most relationships do not survive the scrutiny. There can be a fear of injury, either to others or yourself. So there is avoidance of scissors or other sharp objects. The person can feel responsible for hurting others. They will keep the rug smoothed out or pick up trash to keep others from being hurt. They can have an intolerance of anything being out of place in their surroundings. This compels the person to over ride social acceptability and work to keep things in order. This can lead to others feeling uncomfortable, but this is overlooked. There can be a fear of germs and the person washes their hands a great deal. This can lead the person to washing everything that has been touched by hands, walls, clothes, etc. The person may have no problem with other people being gay, but they keep trying to find the smallest stirrings of it in themselves. There can be a compulsion towards hypochondria. The person is not sure that the doctor knows the right thing and so there is worries about misdiagnoses or other errors. Please do not diagnose the people around you. If you think that they need help, get them to a doctor. The part of the brain that is affected by this problem is the amydala. There is also a loop formed by the orbital frontal cortex, the caudate nucleus and the thalamus. LENS can help the brain to work in a calm relaxed manner. It can help the brain to defrag the areas that are working incorrectly.

One night a man was crying: Allah! Allah!
His lips grew sweet with the praising, until a cynic said, "So! I've heard you calling out; Have you ever gotten a response?" The man had not answer to that. He quit praying and fell into a confused sleep. He dreamt he saw Khidr, the guide of the souls, in a thick foliage: "Why did you stop praying?" "Because I never heard anything back!" "This longing you express is the return message! The grief you cry out from draws you toward union. Your pure sadness that wants help is the secret cup. Listen to the moan of the dog for it's master. The whining is the connection. There are love dogs no one knows the names of. Give your life to be one of them!" LENS neurofeedback is a gift to the brain. It helps to keep it running at top speed or relaxation. I enjoy all of the functions of the brain. Let's take a look at some of the ways to stop anxiety thought patterns. One of the key factors is to become aware. If the thought pattern of, Oh my God I just can't handle this anymore, is running around in your head, Just sit back and notice it. It will only last for a little while. Notice what is happening in your body, is your heart beating faster? Is your breathing getting faster and shallower? Take time out to notice what your body is trying to tell you. Walk around in your pain.
If you have a medical condition and this is dangerous for you, please see your doctor. If you can get to the root of these emotions then they will not have so much control over you. I know it feels like a hammer is going to fall on your head and wipe you out. Stay with it and notice the crazy thoughts that want to take over. Am I good enough? Am I just such a miserable human being that no one wants to be around me? Understanding these emotional tags and acknowledging them is important. This energy will pass, understand that it is just trying to drag you down. . Accept this moment, this is what has been chosen. If there is violence in your mind, learn to accept it as a part of you. This is the part that fades away, if we become aware of these thoughts. Don't try to push it away, learn to sail away with it. LENS can create a place of calm in the brain. It can help to lift the thought patterns that keep us stuck. Here are some facts about this amazing brain of ours.
We have 100 billion neurons in our brain, with the supporting cells it adds up to 1 trillion. We have 125 million visual receptors in each eye. The eyes compete for the brain's attention. We have 6,000 genes that are expressed in the brain, this makes up 20% of all or our genes. The total number of genes we have is 30,000. The cerebral cortex (where higher functions reside) makes up 77% of the brain. Let's give this part of us a workout, we can make it more flexible. A rat has 31% of the brain dedicated to higher functions. The brain in an adult is 2.8 pounds or 2% of the body weight. (we can't blame weight gain on this area). A newborn's brain is a whopping 8% of the body weight. The brain is 78% water, fat's 12% and proteins are 8%. Try LENS neruofeedback, it is an inexpensive way to get feeling better. The researchers at University California, Irvine did a long term study that shows how a negative response to stress can impact health up to a decade later. The researchers have found that even minor, negative stressors can have an impact that affects health as much as a big stressor, such as a death or getting divorced. The researchers had the participants take a 8 day stress evaluation of their negative emotions. The researchers then went back 10 years later to access the health of the participants. They found evidence that negative perceptions of events affected their health, which included chronic illness, functional impairments and difficulties with everyday tasks.
So learning to let go, is not just a saying. It has a real impact. Try LENS neurofeedback it helps the brain to be more flexible and keeps the stress away. If
If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream—and not make dreams your master; If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch, if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And—which is more—you'll be a Man, my son! —Rudyard Kipling Here is a way to understand how we change and where we are in those stages.
The first stage is what is called precontemplation. This is the stage were we are changing the behavior. We are all on board. There is no reluctance, rebellion, resignation or rationalization. We are all GO!!!! The second stage is called contemplation. We are on the fence, there can be ambivalence (why haven't I done this before? Why can't I stop?) We are considering and rejecting change at the same time. The third stage is determination and preparation. We are at the summit of what we are going to do. We are saying yes to change. There is motivation and intent to change. The fourth stage is the action stage. We are back on GO!!! We are going to attempt to make it work. The fifth stage is maintenance. We are cruising along and attempting to sustain the change. The sixth stage is were we do not want to go, but it happens anyway. This is were we hit the wall and relapse or recycle to where we were before. This is the AHH!! full-scale return to the previous behavior. LENS neurofeedback can help the part of the brain that keeps these cycles in place, it heals the traumatized parts. The brain is healed so that it is easier to stay in the maintenance stage. Give it a try. It doesn't hurt. Here are some more of the personalities that psychology considers difficult, mostly because these people blame everything that happens to them on the people or things around them. Please don't point fingers and call people around you these names. We all have a little of these personality types within us.
Histrionic personalities are extremely emotional and attention-seeking. This may include excessive sexual seductiveness. Narcissistic people have grandiosity and self-absorption; an insatiable need for recognition; a lack of interest in others. Avoidant people have a sense of inadequacy and a extreme sensitivity to being seen as flawed and a fear of social interaction. Dependent people are clingy and submissive. They have difficulty with assuming responsibility for decisions or disagreeing with others. Obsessive-Compulsive are defined as rigid and over-adhere to rules. They are not yet OCD which is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. LENS can help to keep the brain functioning at a good level so that these tendencies can be smoothed out. OH! I hit my head again. The researchers in Denmark looked at 2.8 million patient cases to access the impact of traumatic brain injuries or in shorthand TBI's. They have a controlled system of medical care. They found that the risk for dementia increased 24% with a TBI. This is broken down into a mild TBI (concussion) at 25% and a severe TBI at 35%. Even if it was a mild TBI the increase in dementia was evident. This did not include all of the cases. The risk for dementia goes up as the amount of TBI"s increase. 33% for 2 or 3 TBI's and up to 183% for 5 or more. WOW!!! The risk for dementia in 20 year old's was 60% percent at the age of 50.
47 million people have dementia in the world today. That is expected to double in the next 20 years. A further explanation for TBI is an external force to the head by a car accident, assaults, and falls. Help your head by limiting alcohol and tobacco. Get regular exercise to help decrease obesity and hypertension. The people in the military and those that are into contact sports are at a higher risk also. I feel like the doom and gloom person. Help yourself with some LENS treatments. These treatments can decrease the amount of trauma to the brain with any kind of impact. Let's take a look at some of the personality disorders, as they are called. Some people can recognize that they are having a problem, others like to blame their problems on others.
Someone who is paranoid, will have feelings of mistrust and suspicion of others. Someone who is schizoid is not schizophrenic, but has some characteristics, that include social isolation and limited range of emotional expression. Someone who is schizotypal is getting closer to being schizophrenic but not quit there. This person is like the schizoid but they are having delusions (seeing or hearing things that normal people consider to not be there). Someone who is antisocial has a disregard for the law and the rights of others. They have a tendency toward deceit and manipulation. Someone who is considered borederline has a impulsive and violable personality. They have a pattern of unstable relationships and are often self-destructive or have suicidal tendencies. More on this later.... Just know that LENS can help with these problems. |
