Come to the calm of a well functioning brain.
When we lack a good sound base of core values, then we tend to follow the trends. We jump on the bandwagon of whatever anger or outrage is on the web. Here is a little information about anger. Anger is addictive, yes. it is like the guy that is looking for the next drink or hit. Anger overrides the rational and moral responses, it originates from the limbic or lizard brain. The lizard brain responds automatically, it is connected to our fight, flight or freeze responses. It responds automatically and controls the adrenaline responses. This provides a rush and is fueled by the anger or outrage response. This in turn gives us an unhappy high, but we keep trying to reproduce this high. This is the addictive response, that is produced internally.
We, as a society, are getting less tolerant of dangerous behavior, the #MeToo is a representative of this theme. I am not saying that these issues should not be investigated. We need to be able to step back and learn the art of reasoned debate. We need to be able to engage in disagreements with our reasoning powers, which engages our prefrontal cortex. Moderation needs to be understood as something that is not bland or tasteless. We need to be able to understand that not all people will think like us, open the door. Our best responses happen when we are not upset and less intent on proving just one side of the question. Shall we take a look at the bigger picture and what is for the greater good? Anger has health risks. These risks can include heart disease, eating disorders, car accidents and mental health problems. LENS neurofeedback can help the brain to relax and defrag. This allows the higher functioning areas to start working in a smoother way.
