Come to the calm of a well functioning brain.
Here is some research that I find interesting. The people at the University of Copenhagen, with help from other computer science people looked at 3,5 million books. They researched the adjectives that were related to men and women. The research looked at books that were published between 1900 and 2008. They found that the words associated with women were related to physical appearance and the words that were related to men described behavior. The top words for women were sexy and beautiful. The top words for men were righteous, rational and brave. There were five times the amount of negative verbs related to women compared to men. This has a great deal of impact in the business world along with the social area. There is now some statistical basis for gender bias. I find it good to research what we need to understand to create a balanced world.
LENS neurofeedback creates a more balanced brain. Come and try it out.

What can we do with this stress level that wants to overwhelm us? Do I have enough money? Will I have enough for retirement? Do I want to keep living this way? What do you think about all of this level of high achievement? I want to jump off of the boat and take a swim. It is fun to splash around, especially if you can find some children.
I found an article in Neurosciencenews.com about humor. Some of the researchers are teaching people to find playfulness again. They are calling this humor training. Playfulness is considered the basis of humor. It can be a play with ideas. This includes a lack of embarrassment, enjoyment of being and not being afraid of being laughed at. This sounds like the ability to be childlike again. The stress levels were lowered along with better health, and the list goes on. One of studies found that kindergarten teachers had more tolerance for playfulness from girls than the boys. Is this why we have more male comedians. I say send in the clowns!!! LENS neurofeedback can help the brain to work better and so lighten up a little. There is a way to find peace without drugs.. I have been intrigued lately with information that I have found concerning children and play and Vitamin D. I read an article at getpocket.com called the play deficiency. The man who wrote the article is a environmental psychologist. He likes to study children and the affects of play. He makes a strong case for children and adolescents to have a great deal of time to work things out with play, without adult interference. They learn social skills and the areas that interest them through learning on their own. He interviewed people that had went through this process and found that they loved the work that they do.
I also watched Christopher Robin on Netflix. This is another way of looking at play from an adult standpoint and how it is important to have the down time so that creativity can flourish. I found it enjoyable. I just found an article about Vitamin D deficiency and how it relates to mental health. The researchers from the University of Michigan studied children between the ages of 5 to 12. They used interviews and blood tests of 3,202 children. They went back and worked with the children 6 years later. They found that the children that had more aggressive behaviors as well as anxious and depressive conditions had a lack of Vitamin D. This leads to the thought that getting outside and in the sunshine is important. LENS helps with the brains ability to function at a better level. If you include getting outside and playing on the list then we could see a good result. The medication that is given to children for ADHD is called Methylphenidate, also called Ritalin or Concerta. This medication is given to 5.2 percent of the American population of children between the ages of 2 and 17.
A study from the University of Amsterdam had children and adults take the medication over a 16 week period. These were people that had not been on medications in the past. The study showed that the white matter in young boys was affected. White matter is the part of the brain that carries signals from one part of the brain to another. It also affects learning. This study also showed that the affects were age dependent, the adults were not affected by the medications in the white matter. LENS works well with children. Their brains are still forming and have had less trauma then most adults. I have seen a significant change with children in a short amount of time, with in a couple of months. I would like to see children given the chance to change their brain patterns quickly without the use of medications. It will cost less in the long run, both financially and with brain function improving, emotionally and physically. I have become interested in how I research different topics. There is a connection between the articles that I read, is it my interest or coincidence? I watched a short video by Bruce Lipton yesterday about his research regarding how we essentially program our brain. He believes (as I do) that we are programed between the ages of 0 to 7. This is when the brain is developing at a great speed. Our brains are still being programed at this age to believe anything that is being said to us. We Believe whatever is said. So if we are told that life is hard and that money is hard to come by, then that is what we believe. However, we can change this story by again repeating that we can be Happy or Content and that Life Will Bring Us What We Need. This is not woo- woo. It is science. My father used to tell me that, "I didn't have the brain that God gave a goose". I have since proven that Idea Wrong. He was probably told the same thing.
I just read an article about a study of a small amount of people that played a boring video game at the University of California. They put electrodes on the subjects brains and had them watch the resolution of a circle. They were told what area of the screen to watch. At first the visual area of the brain (that was being measured) fired up at a good rate. But then the rate calmed down, but still was processing the information. So we are still learning even though we know the process, the brain is still learning from the process. LENS can help the brain to work at a optimum level. It helps the neurons to get connected. We all crave it. That sugar rush.... It is actually linked to the part of the brain that is connected to other addictions, such as heroin or cocaine. It is hidden in many foods. White bread anyone? The average American eats 152 pounds of sugar a year. That means that we have to eat 44 teaspoons a day. Children consume an average of 34 teaspoons a day. I see it happen all of the time, people offering children sweets. We get them kicked off early with this problem or addiction, we could call it. The American Heart Association recommends no more than 6 teaspoons a day for women and children. (This can also be found in the juice that we consume.) Men get to have a little more, 9 teaspoons a day.
What happens when we eat starch, potatoes, corn, rice or other grains is that it is converted into sugar rather quickly. All of these variables add up to a great deal of weight gain and health issues. Personally I like grains so I need to watch how much I eat a day. I found that whole grain bread is better than whole wheat. I have also found that fats are good. Did I say that? They help you to burn fat. Fats help you to feel full and they speed up the metabolism. This needs to be good fats, coconut oil, good olive oil or MCT. I have not tried the last one. These fats also help the brain to function at a better level. So try LENS and get your brain and metabolism hopping at a good rate. Oh my, It has happened again. More people have lost their lives to a random shooter. Or should I say random shooters!! My system wants to shut down and cry..... How do people get to this state of being? I saw an article from the APA (American Psychological Association). The article stated that the majority of the people that commit these rampages are not mentally ill. The article stated that most of the crimes where committed out of hate. This was directed towards minorities, race and religious beliefs. So they are looking into not allowing people who are considered incapable to have guns. Who makes this call? My guess is that will just drive the hate more. The guns will be found. So how do we assess mental illness? Is a burning hate not related to depression, OCD, anxiety. My brain does not understand this state of mind. What I understand is that the people that do these crimes are in a group of people that support this kind of behavior. That people who have a need to find a belief that they can dive into deeply and be part of something. This is a core issue. Finding the belief system that will support and help you to belong. If the belief is negative then the brain is hijacked and does not process the information as negative. If any of you know how to help this please comment.
LENS has helped me to become more sensitive to the areas of my life that need healing. I am more aware of the consequences of my behavior and beliefs and how they affect others. |
