Comfort.....

I just read an article about illusions in Vox. https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/20978285/optical-illusion-science-humility-reality-polarization.  Neuroscience is studying how we perceive the world and our bias.  Our reality can be viewed on many different levels.  But is this reality the same for all involved.  We have all been raised in different environments and have different preferences.  We can all see things in a different way.  I believe that the trick is to check in with the other person to see if what they are seeing, feeling and understanding can parallel with our understanding, seeing and feeling.
I just spent the morning with a dear friend.  She came to help me clean out some hazardous waste.  We had to drive to another part of town, about an hour away.  We are people that perceive the world in very different ways.  She is very organized, everything is stripped down and she cooks on a certain day.  I have a haphazard way of approaching life.  My house can always use some more organization.  I cook when the mood strikes me.  My clothes are varied and sometimes frilly.  Yet, I find great comfort being with her.  Her generosity is beautiful, she is intelligent and gifted.  I sincerely appreciate her willingness to help me.  We research how we perceive the world and enjoy the differences.

LENS can help you with anxiety, depression and whatever else is getting you off centered

Anxiety...What to do?????

Anxiety can relate to
  • fear
  • restlessness
  • inability to focus
  • hard to fall asleep
  • getting easily irritated
  • makes it hard to talk to others
  • makes you feel like your constantly being judged
  • stuttering
  • sweating
  • blushing
  • upset stomach
  • panic attack
All of this can lead to health conditions that are hard to control.

The people at the University of Cambridge have some ideas.
  • First, "Do it badly.  This speeds up the decision making and gets you into action.
  • Don't wait for the perfect time or to do it perfectly.
  • Forgive yourself.  If you had a friend that kept criticizing you, would you keep them around?  Become aware of your inner critic.
  • Help others.  This helps you get out of your downward spiral.  Find a child or older person that could use some help.
LENS helps to get your brain in the calm and cool area of life.

Sadness.....

There is a way to find relief from all of this emotional storm that has been filling our lives.  We can learn to accept that life will not always be happy.  We can learn that all of the emotions are acceptable.  This is a practice, a healthy practice, that is considered good in Japan and China.
I keep trying to find ways to get out of this loneliness and sadness that staying at home has created.  I research, because that is what I like to do.
I go out side to look at the trees and scare a deer out of my backyard.  Hopefully, they will come back tomorrow.
I find solace in the green of the grass, the dandelion wisps floating around.
In the back of my mind I keep thinking that I need to be doing something to make this better, then I take a breath and find that I can be like the deer that sleeps in my back yard.  The deer teach me to accept that, there is enough grass around.  I will be taken care of.
So is this happiness?  I am not sure.
I know that the less chatter I have in my brain, the more I can discover that I am okay with this present time, I will be okay.  As I hope that you are.

I can help with the past trauma that you have carrying around.  LENS heals the brain.

One more idea.....

I love good quotes:
"You don't have to be positive all of the time.  It's perfectly okay to feel sad, angry, annoyed, frustrated, scared and anxious.  Having feelings doesn't make you a "negative person".  It makes you Human".  Lori Deschene

This is a good quote.  It needs to be qualified.  If you find yourself in a hole that you can't get out of please reach out to find support.  Our support systems have been fractured.  Find someone that you can share a smile and a hug.  Of course, someone that is not ill.

We have been in a place of disconnection and I hope that we can find the connection again.

LENS calms down the brain so that it is not as reactive.  It helps with depression, anxiety and sadness.  Come and try it out.  It is better than drugs and alcohol

Concussions.....

Have you had a time in your life where you were knocked out from a blow to the head?  Or even if you weren't knocked out but you had these type of symptoms:
  • Confusion
  • Fatigue
  • Difficulty remembering new information
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Mood Changes
  • Being sensitive to light and sound
You don't even need to be hit on the head to get these symptoms.  The brain is in a watery environment, it bounces around.  Then the brain cells stretch and twist.  The blood vessels become leaky and the chemicals the brain uses to communicate start dumping randomly.  The electrical activity slows down, along with the blood flow.

LENS can help with these problems.  I helps!

Stress and the body....

I have written about stress and how it affects us many times...  I think that because of our times we need to be reminded of it's affects.

We are made up with many mechanisms that help us to heal.  We have a part of the brain that is called the amygdala.  It sends out the signal to the rest of the brain to prepare for fight or flight.  It gets our system ready for getting out of a dangerous situation.  This increases our blood flow and heart rate   It also shuts down our digestive system.

Becoming aware of the stress that we are under helps us to use methods to keep this system from going into overload.  Our amygdala actually becomes larger when the stress response is continued.  This over activation wrecks havoc in our bodies making us sick with heart disease, diabetes, obesity, poor eye sight and increased blood pressure.

So it is worth it to take a breather.  Learn to sit back and let our stress dissipate so that we can get our frontal part of the brain on board before we create problems with our relationships and ourselves.

These are difficult times, we need to take advantage of the time we have to learn about who we are as human beings and care for others around us.

LENS helps with our stress, without drugs or alcohol.

Wise words for our times.... A little poetry....

When the Violin

When the violin can forgive the past
It starts singing

When the violin can stop worrying
About the future

You will become
Such a drunk laughing nuisance

That God
will then lean down
and start combing you into
His
Hair

When the violin can forgive
Every wound caused by
Others

The Heart starts singing...

I hope that you are all safe and well.

The losing drug war....

6/5/2020

I just read a very long article in Rolling Stone about the "War on Drugs" that was created by the Nixon administration.  The article, in a very accurate way, described the the different administrations and how they have spent $500 billion dollars of the tax payers money on trying to stop the drug flow into the United States.  We are still spending $50 billion dollars a year on the drug war.

There have been several studies that use science and math that stated that drug rehab is the way to go.  Our leaders still spend a great deal of money on searching out the cartels.  The leaders are soon replaced, or they disperse their power to someone under them.  There has even been crack downs at the border with the police being fired and then turning to the drug transportation industry.  They are making this into a big business.  There are also many people dying along the way.

So how do we stop all of this stomp and weed out?  The best way to get to the problem is to work with the many people that are in jail and get them some help instead of punishment.  These addictions cost a great deal of money and damage to the lives of families.  And I know that drugs even damage the people that have not been in jail and their families.

LENS can help with the problem of addictions.  Come in when it isn't such a hard day.

Polish Logic...

The Polish people live in between Germany and Russia.  They have been taken over and you can guess the rest.
They have a saying, "Jakos to bedzie".  This translates as, it will all work out.  However, there is a deeper meaning, as most of us find when there is a good deal of problems around.
  • It also means, acting without worrying about the consequences.  (We are not talking about illegal ways here.)
  • Reaching for the impossible.
  • Taking risks and not being afraid.
  • All of this with the unwavering certainty that we can so anything, no matter what obstacles we face along the way.
How about if we all started to have some fun and get out of this blah!  There is actually science based proof that we can change our world, it is called quantum physics.

LENS will heal the brain.  It uses a frequency that matches the brain waves to help it get out of reactivity mode.  We need to find a way out of this anxiety and depression.
