Come to the calm of a well functioning brain.
Our attention has been hijacked by all of the media that is in our lives. "We are drowning in information, while starving for wisdom". This is a quote from E.O. Wilson a biologist that lived awhile ago. Our information age is taking control of our attention. We can break attention down into two different categories. There is the left brain attention that works in the service of a goal. This type of attention is part of the social media that diverts us from our own objectives. We become a tool that others use with all of the alerts and notifications that we receive. We need to take back our attention to create our own objectives.
The other kind of attention is the right brain version. This is a part of the brain that is open to whatever we have found in front of us without an agenda. It is exploring our environment, much like a child would. This part of the brain helps us to attend to what is happening around us, a good example is looking at the trees that are changing their dresses for the winter. I love the colors. LENS neurofeedback can help the brain to process information, yet it also helps with the ah-ha moments and finding peace in the small things.
