Come to the calm of a well functioning brain.
The brain has the same biochemical (the same building blocks) principles as the thyroid or the spleen. The way that we feel emotionally is reflected in the body. If we are depressed then the body is not balanced. Depression can create damage in the body, just as a disease can kill the body. The mind and brain are interrelated.
Let us look again at some of the stats. The amount of diabetic women that are depressed is 20%, with men it is 10%. This is twice the amount of depression in relation to the rest of the population. With the incidence of heart conditions and neuropathy in this population, we have to wonder about this wonderful brain of ours. If someone is depressed then the rate of mortality goes up 600%. The amount of money that the U.S. spends on depression is $50 Billion in lost productivity.
