Depression is a very common situation with people.  It is different from sadness and grief, which are the right way to respond to negative experiences.  Depression lasts for 2 weeks or more.  It is characterized by a loss of interest in what you used to love, there can be a disruption in sleep and eating, with feelings of despair and worthlessness.  It has a continuing influence  and can be unrelenting, unable to find positivity.  The depressed brain shows an over active amygdalae, decreased activity in the prefrontal cortex, sensory processing issues in the thalamus,  And a reduction in dopamine.  If the depression is on going it can create damage in the brain.
30% of college students report having been so depressed that they where having a hard time with functioning.  And 7.5 % say that they have considered suicide.
This is a real problem, and it sits on our door, waiting to be recognized.  Please help me to get help to these people.

LENS neurofeedback can help to heal the brain, it creates more flexibility.  The world will look like a better place soon.
