Come to the calm of a well functioning brain.
The endocrine system sends a cascade of chemical messengers called hormones that flood through our blood system. We have about 50 different hormones in our system. There are 2 categories of hormones, peptides (protein) and steroids (fatty). Steroids are produced only by the adrenals and the reproductive systems, peptides do the rest of the work. These little wonders keep the metabolism working from moment to moment and regulate growth (which the nervous system plays no role). They are busy pumping weights while we are napping.
The pituitary gland sits under the brain and secretes hormones that control most of the endocrine glands. And there is also the hypothalamus (also under the brain) that works to coordinate the endocrine and nervous system. While the nervous system works as the telegraph system, the hormones send out chemical messengers that fit into specific sites in the body. LENS helps to support the brain and the central nervous system to work correctly. When the systems are balanced, then the functions increase to work in harmony. Shall we start singing now?
