Come to the calm of a well functioning brain.

Exploring different regions of the brain...

What happens in the brain that makes it function the way that it does?  As mentioned earlier, the brain is a symphony in itself.  It has many different functions, with many different areas involved.  Some of the basic functions of the brain is in what is called the brain stem.  This is the main relay station between the brain and the rest of the body.  The brain stem is also responsible for many of the vital functions of the body.  It regulates the heartbeat (which can increase when you see the one you love), breathing (ditto on that last comment), swallowing, coughing and sneezing.  It also plays a role in consciousness and sexual arousal (ditto).   If this area of the brain is not functioning at an optimum level the consequences can be dramatic.  Our species could decline (without all the fun) and, well, breathing can be pretty important.  LENS neurofeedback is an easy way for the brain and body to increase it's performance and obtain a optimum level of functioning.
