Come to the calm of a well functioning brain.
Here is a way to understand how we change and where we are in those stages.
The first stage is what is called precontemplation. This is the stage were we are changing the behavior. We are all on board. There is no reluctance, rebellion, resignation or rationalization. We are all GO!!!! The second stage is called contemplation. We are on the fence, there can be ambivalence (why haven't I done this before? Why can't I stop?) We are considering and rejecting change at the same time. The third stage is determination and preparation. We are at the summit of what we are going to do. We are saying yes to change. There is motivation and intent to change. The fourth stage is the action stage. We are back on GO!!! We are going to attempt to make it work. The fifth stage is maintenance. We are cruising along and attempting to sustain the change. The sixth stage is were we do not want to go, but it happens anyway. This is were we hit the wall and relapse or recycle to where we were before. This is the AHH!! full-scale return to the previous behavior. LENS neurofeedback can help the part of the brain that keeps these cycles in place, it heals the traumatized parts. The brain is healed so that it is easier to stay in the maintenance stage. Give it a try. It doesn't hurt.
