Come to the calm of a well functioning brain.
I have written about stress and how it affects us many times... I think that because of our times we need to be reminded of it's affects.
We are made up with many mechanisms that help us to heal. We have a part of the brain that is called the amygdala. It sends out the signal to the rest of the brain to prepare for fight or flight. It gets our system ready for getting out of a dangerous situation. This increases our blood flow and heart rate It also shuts down our digestive system. Becoming aware of the stress that we are under helps us to use methods to keep this system from going into overload. Our amygdala actually becomes larger when the stress response is continued. This over activation wrecks havoc in our bodies making us sick with heart disease, diabetes, obesity, poor eye sight and increased blood pressure. So it is worth it to take a breather. Learn to sit back and let our stress dissipate so that we can get our frontal part of the brain on board before we create problems with our relationships and ourselves. These are difficult times, we need to take advantage of the time we have to learn about who we are as human beings and care for others around us. LENS helps with our stress, without drugs or alcohol.
