Come to the calm of a well functioning brain.
We all want to fit in... We are social... So what is Normal behavior? What is Abnormal behavior? Freud described madness, craziness as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. Drink a whole lot every night, it will be hard to get up in the morning and get to work. Do this a long time and....
Avram Holmes (any relation to Sherlock?) of Yale University has been studying the variability of behavior. What Holmes is saying is that there is no fixed normal, and that we should allow a certain amount of variability with our behavior. This does not mean that it is O.K. to go out and commit a crime. It just means that it is O.K. to give ourselves a little leeway with our behaviors. Healthy variation is good. Depending on the context your placed in, there should be a variable of what is considered good or bad behavior. A good example would be if your impulsive and sensation seeking. In a fast paced environment this could be an asset. These extroverts might exercise more and have more friends. Or if you have anxiety and need to present a paper at work or school, anxiety can be a motivator to get things done. So what the research finds is that a specific biological marker for a certain trait is difficult to analyze. This is being worked on so that a disorder can be recognized. LENS neurofeedback can help to soothe the brain. It can create an environment of a smooth functioning and better acceptance of the self in all situations.
